Buenos Aires

Overview

Argentina reacted to the economic crisis of 2001 by focusing inward instead of on Europe. New business and creative talent have flourished in Buenos Aires ever since. Tourism is booming, with visitors flocking to the elegant city, swaying to the melancholic sounds of tango, filling the fashionable restaurants and soaking up the local zest for life. The capital is the financial and cultural center of the country and a vital port serving a large portion of the continent. The country's main exports are soy and its by-products, cars, corn, wheat and crude oil.
